If you are considering the purchase and installation of a new bathroom you will want the process to be as stress free as possible and choosing to buy from an IBSA member showroom will help ensure that your dream bathroom becomes a reality.

Not just any bathroom retailer can be a member of IBSA, all of our members are required to meet and maintain the high criteria demanded by the Association, this means that you will be dealt with in a professional and courteous manner, have a wide range of products from which to choose in well appointed showrooms, be served by experienced and well trained staff who will be able to offer you advice on the best choice of products and accessories as well as being able, in most showrooms, to provide a design service to help you decide on the final layout of your new bathroom.

IBSA members will also be able to provide an installation service that will ensure the products purchased will be fitted to a high standard.

Furthermore, should you choose to buy your new bathroom from an IBSA member, your purchase will be covered by the unique IBSA insurance backed guarantee.

Criteria
Established Independent Retailer with a successful business built on reputation and recommendation.
Minimum of 2 years trading history with auditable accounts.
Be owner operated and not part of a larger holding company.
Exceptionally well presented Showroom with a representative range of displays.
Knowledgeable and well trained staff able to give expert advice on products, design and installation.
Supports and adheres to the Association's Consumer Pledge and Code of Practice.
Agrees to support and participate in the activities of the Association and to maintain financial contributions
Membership is by invitation only.
Maintain an internal complaints procedure.

IBSA Consumer Pledge
IBSA members pledge to provide excellence throughout their businesses and promise to:

Provide a choice of products that meet the highest standards in safety, function, style and quality.
Respond to all enquiries promptly.
Maintain a helpful, friendly, expert and efficient service.
Provide or recommend installers who have insurance and who are
experienced, well trained and agree to regular inspections of their work.
Endeavour to resolve any problems in a sensible and friendly manner as speedily as possible.
Maintain an internal complaints procedure.

Code of Practice
Members agree to conduct their business in a manner befitting the aims of the Association and commit to:

Provide the consumer with a level of service in line with the Association's Consumer Pledge.
Maintain their showrooms in a complete and clean condition.
Constantly review and update their product ranges.
Provide a design and installation service.
Provide helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Provide the consumer with a comprehensive range of brochures enabling a representative choice of currently available products.
Provide conditions of sale when requested to do so.
Provide IBSA insurance to cover deposits, installation and a six year transferable warranty.
Provide an after sales service to a standard defined by the Association.
Provide a point of contact to manufacturers' experts and technical advice when necessary.
Make regular checks on the standard of installers used and include them whenever possible in manufacturers' training.
Provide staff training to the highest available level.
Display and explain IBSA membership benefits.
Maintain an internal complaints procedure.

Installation
Not all IBSA members operate in the same way and there are a number of contract options that could be offered to you.
All inclusive
This includes the purchase of products and their installation by the retailer’s own qualified fitting teams; payment would be made to the retailer for the cost of goods and cost of installation
Project managed
This would include the purchase of products and their installation by qualified fitting teams, not employed by the retailer but approved by them; payment would be made to the retailer for the cost of goods and cost of installation.
Approved installer
The product to be installed is purchased from the IBSA member and a separate contract would be entered into with an IBSA approved fitter who would undertake their installation; payment would be made to the retailer for the cost of goods and to the installer for the cost of fitting. 
An IBSA approved installer is one who meets and maintains the criteria laid down by the Association and who has had at least 2 installations undertake inspected prior to approval and has a 2 year, quantifiable, period of successful trading and meets and maintains the Code of Practice
Supply Only
The installation of the products purchased form the IBSA member is the responsibility of the purchaser.

Code Of Practice For Installers
IBSA approved installers' promise to: 

Carry Public Liability to cover individual claims (minimum £1m).
Undergo regular product training.
Carry and show Personal Identification.
Contact the Customer to arrange site visits and agree dates for work to be started.
Agree layout and all necessary preparatory work with the Customer before commencement of work.
Inspect all products to be installed with the Customer and reject any sub-standard products.
Protect the work area and surrounding area with appropriate protective covers.
Keep the Customer informed of progress and consult on any problems encountered.
Clean the work area and surrounding area on completion.
Obtain signed Customer’s satisfaction note on completion and forward to retailer.
Agree to periodic inspection of installations.
Maintain satisfactory standard of personal appearance.

Guarantee
The unique IBSA insurance backed guarantee provides customers with the following cover:

Deposit protection
When you pay your deposit to the retailer it will be guaranteed subject to the deposit being not exceeding 25% of the Total Contract Value (to maximum of £12,500) and the customer completing and submitting the IBSA Warranty Registration Card. The deposit protection increases to 50% once the goods have been delivered.
What does this mean?
If the retailer to whom you paid your deposit should cease trading before the goods are delivered your deposit will be refunded or the goods ordered supplied by another IBSA retailer*.

Work In Progress Cover
If you have entered into an all inclusive, project managed or approved installer contract the installation of your bathroom will be guaranteed if the retailer or installer ceases to trade
What does this mean?
If the retailer and/or installer with whom you entered into a contract with to install your bathroom should cease trading before the installation is completed an alternative IBSA approved installer will be appointed to complete the installation at no additional cost* to you.

Six year transferable warranty against defective workmanship.
If a problem due to defective workmanship arises in a period of up to six years after the completion of the original installation and the original retailer and/or installer has ceased trading an alternative IBSA approved installer will be appointed to rectify the problem at no cost* to you.

* An excess of £150.00 applies to all claims.
** Customers are required to confirm that they have read the Summary of the Warranty which will be shown to them at the time of purchase.
